Enjoyed a glass of '07 AP Vin Pinot Noir from the Clos Pepe Vineyard. Must say that I loved it!
California Pinot Noir can be light and fruity, or rock-em, sock-em big boys that can play on the same team as a cab lover. This one is the latter.
What I liked most about this wine was its balance and elegance. It has the up-front dried berry/cherry fruit that you want your Pinot Noir to have, followed by a dash of lively acidity and earth that segues into a spicy, silky, tantalizing finish.
Tasted this at Cru Allen ~ Watter's Creek, about 550 cases made - so not a lot of it out there, and probably only available on-premise.
Find it ~ Buy it ~ Try it ~ Love it!
