If Wikipedia's right, I can see why people are going crazy over the Wheelhouse Cab because it is definitely in my sweet spot!
The '07 Wheelhouse Cabernet is a classic California Cab: Big fruit, big tannins, big mouthfeel. Most of the grapes are sourced from valley vineyards throughout Napa. The valley fruit brings a lush, juicy feel to the Wheelhouse. The wine is big, but balanced and elegant with a touch of Merlot to offset the hearty tannins - new French oak adds some creamy vanilla to the currant and black cherry.
According to Robert Parker's vintage chart, the 2007 vintage from Napa Valley AVA is considered to be 96 points across the board. A rating of 96 points is considered "Extraordinary" by the Wine Advocate.
I don't usually rate with points, but I'd give this wine 90+ points based upon QPR (Quality - Price Ratio). C'mon, $13 for a 2007 NAPA CABERNET?? No brainer! Grab it while you can.
