I had a lovely new wine last night - 2006 Constance Cuvee` by Thunevin-Calvet, a vin de pays from Cotes Catalanes. Every sniff, and every sip offered me a new insight into what the wine was all about. Licorice, espresso, cherries, chocolate ~ sounds heavenly, doesn't it? Besides the aromatics and the flavor profile (which definitely suits my palate!), I loved the elegance and subtleties of this wine.
Constance Cuvee` is the winemakers' entry-level wine ~ all I can say is 'WOW' - I'd love to taste their higher-tier wines!
I originally understood this wine was from the Languedoc, southern France and made in a CDR (Cotes du Rhone) style using Grenache, Syrah and a bit of Carignan. World Market is offering this beautiful little wine for $13 and it is worth every penny!
Find it, Buy it, Love it!
